April SOTM Blog Hop for Sunshine Fun!

Thanks for visiting my Scrapi site for all things crafty and scrapi! If you've come from Krista Ritskes' blog, then you are on the right track for our April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop for My Sunshine, one of my favorite SOTM's from this Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Book. With eight "summer" stamp images, many of which coordinate with our Cricut Artiste cartridge, it's incredibly versatile for lots of projects.

After the chilly Spring Break we just had in Virginia, it made me happy to work on a sunny one page scrapbook layout. I am so looking forward to summer . . .
My "Sunshine" layout features the Surf's Up paper (and zip strip) with lagoon, outdoor denim, crystal blue and honey cardstocks, chevron ribbon, color-ready trinkets wooden shapes, wooden buttons and Cricut Artiste cut images (to coordinate with the My Sunshine stamp set plus the sun and title images).
I hope you my project and take a moment to leave me a comment (so fun to read!).

Now on to your next stop - Angel Sawyer's blog - to see what wonderful artwork she has come up with. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the blog hop!  If you should get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list at Helen Onulak's blog. Happy scrappin'!

Making Memories at CTMH Album Retreat 2013

What a fabulous long weekend in Salt Lake City for CTMH's Album Retreat 2013! I was so thrilled to go with one of my best friends and college roommates Lisa from Denver, Colorado.  We arrived in SLC early and spent some time exploring the city one day and then headed to Strawberry Valley for snowmobiling and Park City for some shopping and a wonderful dinner at an outdoor Bistro.  Then the fun really began as we jumped right into the retreat and had such a blast making the gorgeous pages and projects below, spending time with our fabulous CTMH staff and guest speaker Stacy Julian, and meeting up with some wonderful fellow CTMH consultants from all over the country.  What a weekend of memories!!

"Happy Day" Layout - Still Can't Get Enough of Dotty

Here is another fun layout that my kid's afterschool class created using the can't-get-enough CTMH Dotty paper and Cricut Art Philosophy star shapes. So simple but fun. Just love the colors!  Of course, they loved embellishing with lots of bling bling.

"About Me" Layout - Mix of CTMH For Always and Dakota

One of my favorite activities is teaching a kid's afterschool class at our local elementary school.  I just started another six week session this Spring.  Each class we put together a 12" x 12" one page or two page layout and a project.  This "About Me" layout was our first layout - it features a mix of For Always and Dakota papers (base paper), Cricut Artiste cut letters, and the Card Puzzle stamp set.  The girls were so excited about it and it's been one of my favorites!

Chantilly "Easter" Layout and Monogrammed Tag

I used the gorgeous Chantilly paper to create two projects for my March Scrapi Sisters Team dinner. The first is an Easter one page layout which also features shapes from the Cricut Artiste cartridge for the Easter title and grass and the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge for the circle mats for the cute egg stamp from "Easter Wishes" stamp set.  I used CTMH's alcohol markers to color in the images, and used some pink glitter gems, pin clip and ribbon to finish the layout!

The second project is a tag cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge as well as the flower image. The stamp is one of the Monogrammed stamps which I LOVE so much.  I bought the whole collection and I have used it for so many projects!!  I gave this to my Mom for her birthday to use as a bookmark but it makes a beautiful gift tag too!

Successful Fundraising Crop - Fun Scrapi Make 'N Take and Vendor Gifts

I was thrilled to be partners with my friend Jen Heffron to organize another very successful fundraising crop for our local elementary school.  Our 4th Annual Emerick Elementary Fundraising Crop in Purcellville, VA, was scheduled Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. and raised $2,200 for the school!!!   The cost was $50 and included breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, snacks, hourly door prize, raffles and free Make 'n Take from three different vendors, including myself.  Below is the layout I offered using CTMH's Claire paper; "You Rock", "Happy Thought's" and "Monogrammed" stamp sets; sunset twine, chevron ribbon and Cricut Art Philosophy and Artiste shapes!

Happy Chantilly Is Featured March Workshop

My Scrapi March Workshop features the cheerful, happy and beautiful Chantilly papers which I think are perfect for Spring and Easter pages!  The layouts include CTMH's Chantilly Paper Packet, Chantilly Complements Dimensional Elements, Chantilly Assortment, Chantilly Textiles, Hollyhock Zipper Lace and Pink Glitter Gems (all new from the 2013 Spring/Summer Idea Book).

Chantilly Layout #1 - Champagne cardstock is used for base and colonial white and buttercup are other cardstocks used with Chantilly papers.
Chantilly Layout #2 - buttercup, ruby and cotton candy are the cardstock colors I used for this layout to give it a spring feel. The flower on the top right is made using fabric from the Chantilly textiles (four circles, each folded over two times and all four are adhered to another circle).
Chantilly Layout #3 - cotton candy, dutch blue and sweat leaf are the cardstock colors I used for this layout to give it a different look!

All three 2-page layouts as shown above will be pre-cut and ready to assemble for $32.50.

Another option available this month is the Chantilly Card Kit - 15 cards, five of three different "happy birthday" designs, all pre-cut and ready to go for only $34.

Workshop is scheduled for Wed., March 20 at 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m., and Thurs., March 20 at 9:30 a.m.  Both kits are also available pre-cut and mailed out for just additional cost of shipping!
