Blessed To Be Part of SOTM Blog Hop

Thanks for coming to visit from Shirley Ross' Blog for this month's Stamp of the Month Blog Hop featuring the beautiful "Blessed" Stamp Set (D1455).

This is such a beautiful stamp set that I had a tough time trying to decide what type of artwork to come up with. In the end, I thought this stamp set was perfect for a "Family" scrapbook layout and I'm so happy with my results.

I used the following for my "Blessed" Family Layout:

- Miracle Level 2 Paper Packet
- Bamboo, Sky, Chocolate, and Colonial White Cardstock
- Sweet Leaf, Twilight, and Chocolate Inks
- Color-Ready Alphabet
- Lucky Level 2 Assortment
- White Daisy Blooms
- Basic Assortment Buttons (Chocolate)
- Colonial White and Chocolate Waxy Flax

I hope you like it and choose to become a new "Scrapi Traci" follower!

I've love your comments too!!

Thanks for stopping by. Now, check out Tonya Whitehurst's Blog for some more "Blessed" artwork!

CTMH Is Giving A Little Hope To Japan

It feels so good to work for a company that truly cares about the world around. I'm pretty impressed that CTMH came up with this "Hope for Japan" Charitable Fundraiser to contribute to the American Red for Japan's relief efforts.   I am even more impressed by the gorgeous stamp set they came up with to raise money for this great cause!
From now until April 30, you can purchase the exclusive, non-commissionable “Hope for Japan” A-size stamp set for the special price of only $5 US / CAN (retail value $7.95 US / $8.75 CAN), and Close To My Heart will donate 100% of the profits to the American Red Cross’ efforts in Japan.

This beautifully designed stamp set reminds us of how our hearts are hopeful for those who are in need.

As CTMH's Founder & CEO Jeanette Lynton said, "If we all do a little, together we can do a lot. Let's show our support and together, provide real HOPE for Japan!"

Sophia A Hit With Kids Classes This Week

Here is the layout that my two kids' afterschool classes put togther this week using the adorable Sophia papers.  I added tulip and cotton candy cardstock for the photo mat and accents, and pear cardstock as the page bases.  The girls learned how to ink a dimensional element and use the paper flowers with a brad center.  They especially loved learning to rock 'n roll the flowers.  The stamp sets I used for this layout are the new "Polka Dot Alphabet", "Dreams Come True", and "From The Heart" using the pear, blush and tulip inks.  To finish it off, we used tulip and blush brads, and colonial white organdy with satin edges ribbon.

2nd Emerick Elementary PTO Crop A Success

I had a great time planning Emerick Elementary's 2nd Annual PTO Scrapbooking Crop with my good friend and "Bun Bun Bag" Lady Jennifer Heffron.  The crop was a huge success - we raised over $600 for the school.

We were so fortunate to have so many businesses support our efforts and even luckier to have the tenacity of Jen Heffron, who didn't hesitate to ask anyone for a donation.

The crop attendees received breakfast and all-day snacks and drinks courtesy of Wegman's, Giant and Bloom plus coffee courtesy of It's Bazaar on 21st Street. The majority of lunch was donated by Lovettesville's Market Table Bistro and dinner by Vocelli's.  Purcellville resident and former Emerick parent Pam Grimard donated the fabulous scrapbook themed cake shown below.  As if we didn't have enough to eat, Emerick bakers also provided some additional delicious baked goods.

Other businesses also provided generous gift certificates that we used as raffles, including Massage Therapist Kristen McKenzie, Let's Dish, Savoir Faire Restaurant, Salon Allure, Nailtiques, Pampered Chef, and a gorgeous Scrapbook Bag from Bun Bun Bags.

Attendees also received hourly door prizes throughout the day from me, our Stampin' Up and Creative Memories reps, and the many other businesses that generously provided products or gift certificates, including Everyday Elegance, It's Bazaar on 21st Street and Twigs.
Here is the card that all attendees received from me with a complimentary CTMH Spray Pen and instructions for the pen attached.  I embossed the "Smile" from the new "Take A Picture" Stamp set in CTMH White Embossing Powder. Then I used my spray pen (filled with Tulip re-inker and water) across the image (a small boxed worked perfectly as my background) and wiped the ink off the "Smile".  To complete the card, I edged the white cardstock in tulip ink, added a beautiful rosette ribbon flower and pompom ribbon flower from the new Pink Collection Designer Ribbon with Pearl Opaques in each flower center.

I used a beautiful B&T sheet from the Sophia kit and Pear cardstock, edged the white cardstock in Tulip, and finished the card off with a Hollyhock Photo Clip!

Here is the Make 'N Take that the majority of attendees put together. I offered the first page free with the coordinating page for only $3. I used a Wings Level 2 Paper Packet, Pear, Juniper and White Cardstock, Vineyard Berry, Sweet Leaf and Juniper inks, and black ribbon and brads. The stamp sets used is the new "Dreams Come True" and the Miracle's WOTG exclusive stamp set for the adorable pinwheels.  Many of the flowers are made using the rock 'n roll technique. The pinwheels are finished off with pearl opaques!

The most rewarding thing for me from the day was seeing folks go back to their tables and immediately add pictures to this layout! Super cool!

This Mayberry Card Makes Me Eager for Spring

This "Beautiful Day" card makes me so eager for Spring.  I just love this combination with all new components - the Mayberry Paper Packet, Kraft Cardstock, wooden buttons, and Trees & Things Stamp Set (D1467), which is becoming one of my most favorite sets of all time!!

The card is a "Fancy Melissa Laverty" creation that I made at our latest Get Fancy Team Meeting.

It's just so fancy and beautiful!!!

Another Fun Kids Class Layout Using new Miracle Papers

My kid's afterschool classes both had fun making this layout using the new Miracle Level 2 papers, Twilight and Bamboo cardstock, the new Paper Lantern Stamp Set (C1458), pewter photo clips and brads, Opaques, and Bamboo, Sweet Leaf and Twilight inks.  This Twilight blue is my absolute favorite blue of all time!! I just LOVE it!!!

Sweet Layouts for Afterschool Activity Program Class

I just started teaching a "Scrapbooking with Scrapi Traci" Afterschool Activity Program Class for my daughter's Elementary School.  I feel fortunate to have such a great group of girls in both my Monday and my Tuesday classes.  By the end of the session, each student will receive a 12" x 12" red chipboard album, paper protectors and should have nine themed pages that will just need the perfect pictures!!
The girls really enjoyed making this first page of their album using the Sweetheart papers, Cotton Candy and Gypsy cardstock.  Each student had the opportunity to emboss the initial of their first name, learn to make a flower from CTMH's new pink pompom ribbon with fun pink opaques in the center, thread a button with waxy flax, and use Liquid Glass to adhere ribbon.  Using the heat tool was a big hit!!!

This is the first two-page layout that we started in this first class using the Wings Paper Packet, Vineyard Berry and Juniper Cardstocks, the "Take A Picture" stamp set, sweet leaf ribbon, colonial white brad and hinges, Vineyard Berry and Juniper ink, and the 1 1/4" circle punch.  The kids will learn ribbon techniques and how to adhere brads and hinges!
