Wrapping Up A Scrapi Year

I can't believe it's been nearly a whole month since I've blogged.
I'm sure there are a lot of people who can relate with me this month. Something happened after Thanksgiving. Poo craziness.  Although I did not blog, I did have lots of fun projects going on, including a super fun kids class at my daughter's old elementary school (she's 6th grade now)!  I loved that they asked me back to do six week afterschool class. It was so much fun with this group of girls!

Each week we did two scrapbook pages and a project, which they took home each week. At the end of the six week class, they took home their filled scrapbook to add the perfect pics. I was so proud of them - on the last day, I brought paper trimmers, paper, stamps and embellishments and let them create their own pages! They had so much fun and the pages turned out so fabulous.  I love seeing scrapbooking through young eyes.

2013 Summer/Spring CTMH Idea Book
What a fabulous Scrapi year it was!  Not just the afterschool classes but I enjoyed the kid's workshops I also held in my Scrapi home throughout the year, and my super fun summer camps.  I've met some wonderful adult ladies this year through the Leesburg Scrapbooking and Papercrafting group I was asked to coordinate on Meetup, at various crops I've coordinated or attended through the year, at my monthly Scrapi Home Studio workshops and Crops, and at my new Sip 'n Scrap monthly events!  I am so looking forward to more fun in 2013.  From the looks of the new CTMH Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Books that just arrived, I am really excited for the future!

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you all!!

Belated Thanksgiving Turkey Card

I have been having some technical difficulties and have not been able to blog. I am back and although it's past Thanksgiving and we are on to Christmas creations, I wanted to share this super neat card I made for one of my afterschool kid's classes!

It's using two of my favorite new CTMH products- the treat cups and the Artiste collection (the latter just keeps giving and giving as I find more cool creations to make with it every day).

Skittles made the perfect candy for inside with its Fall colors. And, Artiste gave me the adorable turkey. I finished it off with some natual hemp for the bow around its neck, and my Thanksgiving stamped sentiments!  The background B&T is from Flirty and the cardstock is Kraft.  I hope you like it!

Fun Bracket Frame using Chalkboard Paper for Coach Gift

Here's a fun example of CTMH's Bracket Frame with the 12" x 12" Chalkboard sheet that a neighbor asked me to make for her daughter's two Cheer Coaches.  The girls used my Chalkboard Markers to sign their names around the frame!

Here's some tips on how I did it.

1). The shape of the frame matches a shape on the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. I cut it at 11", fit to size, and it was perfect! After adhering it to the frame, I used my cutting knife to cut our the center.  I then sanded the edges and distressed with black ink.
2). I cut a 9" x 9" backing in cardboard and adhered my photo mat, then used my Liquid Glass to attach to frame.
3. The flowers and Cheer shape are made using my Cricut AP.
4. The ribbon is the Silver Shimmer Trim and the orange flower pin is from the Autumn Lane Assortment. Butterfly is from the Flutter Paper Shapes and I finished it off with bling from the Boutique Assortment and Baker's Twine.

It was fun to make especially since this is the first year my daughter didn't do cheer after six years to try volleyball!

November SOTM Blog Hop with "Capture The Date"

Welcome to my Scrapi Blog.  If you've come from the talented Gina Brandstetter's blog for the November Stamp of the Month "Capture the Date" blog hop, you are in the right place!  This stamp set is a must-have to suit all of your scrapbooking needs, whether it's for a card, party invite, seasonal project or layout.

My favorite part of the stamp set is the "Life. Experience It" memo, especially the fact that it coordinates with the Cricut Artiste cartridge.  It immediately made me think about a sports layout for one of my kids.  My 11 year old daughter Haley's Freedom Travel Basketball pictures were perfect for my layout ideas, combining this stamp set with "Game On."

The paper used is a combination of Dakota and Scholastic, with Outdoor Denim and Cranberry cardstock. The "FREEDOM" was cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy and adhered to the Notable Alphabet Dimensional Elements. For the "Life. Experience It" stamp, I chose the Artiste shape on the same page with the notebook edge to coordinate with the Scholastic zip strip I used.  The "Game On" is stamped on one of the Quote Dimensional Elements.  Additional embellishments include outdoor denim ribbon and corrugated chipboard stars from the Milepost Shapes. The layout itself is from the "Make It From Your Heart" Volume I.

Finally, I used a flip flap as shown above (my absolute favorite CTMH product) because I just couldn't leave out any pictures. I think it went perfectly, especially with the added details of the notebook edge from the Scholastic zip strip. I love the picture on the right - how Haley has her hand on her Dad, who was helping that day, while her Coach is talking! Sweet.

I hope you like my layout, and I'd love if you wanted to leave me a comment!   Make sure you add this stamp set to your collection this month. It's the perfect set to have on hand.  With any $50 order, you will receive for only $5 from your CTMH consultant, or order here!

Dreary Day = Stylish Artwork

It was a dreary Sunday afternoon and my daughter Haley and I were holed up in the craft room.  I was scrappin' away and Haley took a break from her scrapbook to paint!  She had wanted to paint letters that we found at Michaels to hang in her room. I thought she had such a cute and stylish idea to paint "DREAM" in black with polka dots that I asked her to make the "CREATE" for me!!  Love her work. Such the artist!!

"A Day Down On the Farm" Studio J Layout

One of the books I'm working on right now is my daughter's Girl Scout album.  It's been so much fun putting it together and remembering all the cool things we did together over the year. The girls started when they were in kindergarten and continued until 5th grade elementary school graduation.  Choosing to be the troop's leader was the best decision I ever made. I really enjoyed the special time with Haley and all the wonderful girls that were part of this troop. It was bittersweet but definitely the right time for everybody when we decided to stop when the girls were headed for middle school.

With CTMH's Studio J special buy 9 and get the 10 layout for free through October, I've been making an extra special effort to get some fun layouts done!

Last Spellbound Project - Happy Thanksgiving Blessings Card

Here's my last project using the CTMH Spellbound Cricut Kit.  The layout is from "Make It From Your Heart", Pattern 27.  The stamp set is "Abundance". I embellished the card with Black and Grey Assortment Sparkles and the fabulous new Burlap ribbon.  I love how it turned out!!

Spellbound "Happy Birthday" Layout

Here's another layout to add to my "Workshop On the Go Spellbound Cricut Kit" project series!  I really wanted to show how fabulous this kit is, even if you may not have party needs this year. You definitely don't want to miss out on this kit.

The layout is from the CTMH new "Make It from Your Heart", Volume I, Pattern #5.  The cupcake and "birthday wishes (tag that I cut in half) are from the birthday stamp in the Cricut Artiste Collection. The letters are the Glamour Glitter Alphabet letters. I embellished the layout with Bitty Sparkles on the cupcake, added Just Blooms Floret Paper Shapes with Baker's Twine. Super fun, and of course, CTMH all the way.

During my "Moonlight" class yesterday, the ladies were so excited by these projects that they begged me to add a "Spellbound" class to my schedule next month!! Love that!

"Hooray" for Spellbound Card

Here's another fun card that I made with CTMH's new WOTG Spellbound Cricut Kit to show how this kit has so many more options for you besides just a party in a bag!  Besides the super fun Spellbound paper, the shapes are from CTMH's Cricut Art Philosophy and Artiste cartridges, and the "hooray" imagei is from the Artiste Collection stamp set. Card layout is from "Make It From Your Heart" Volume I, pattern 24. I finished the card off with buttons from the Sunset Mini-Medley, Sunset Baker's Twine and sparkles from the Black and Grey Assortment. I hope you like it!

Spellbound WOTG Cricut Kit Works for Christmas Layouts Too

As soon as I saw the black polka dot paper in CTMH's Spellbound Workshop On The Go Cricut Kit, I immediately pictured it paired with CTMH's new Ruby cardstock.  I added the new Silver Shimmer Trim for the photo mat and bow, Sparkles Flourishes, and Glamour Glitter Alphabet letters.  The sentiment in the metal frame is from this month's "Very Merry Christmas" Stamp of the Month, embellished with Round Sparkles. The layout is Pattern 17 from the "Make It From the Heart" Volume I,

Spellbound "Boo" Layout

Here's another fun option to use CTMH's new Spellbound kit instead of party goodies - a fun "Boo" layout.  I still used the Cricut Artiste cartridge which coordinates with the enclosed stamp set plus added additional shapes with the "BOO", cat and tree. The layouts is from the new Make It From the Heart Volume I.

"Spellbound" Not Just For Parties - Fun Card

CTMH's new Workshop On the Go "Spellbound Cricut Kit" makes super fun Halloween party projects!!  I love the cute treat bags, cupcake picks and liner, soda wraps and banners.  I just didn't need to make party goodies this year but I still had to order this great kit and I'm not disappointed.

First, the papers are gorgeous and super diverse - I see lots of different themed scrapbook layouts in my future using these papers, both Halloween and not.  And, lots of fabulous cards!

Hope you like my first card creation using this Spellbound kit. I love how it turned out.  The stamp set not only has some great Halloween images, but it coordinates with CTMH's Cricut Artiste cartridge.  I also used the accompanying sunset baker's twine and pin clip. Best of all, the card design is from the new "Make It From the Heart" Volume I.

Don't miss out on this great kit just because you think it's all about party stuff. More designs to come using the contents from this kit!  Click here if you'd like to get your own kit!

Buzzing About Studio J October Special

My beautiful Haley, the bumblebee, with her cousins and neighorhood kids.  Love how this layout turned out - I wanted a quick layout, without a lot of embellishments. So fun to have such a large assortment of Halloween pages to choose from.

I am a classic scrapbooker - I love the feel and smell (yeah, kinda weird) of the papers and the wide assortment of super fun CTMH embellishments. I'll be the first to admit that it took me awhile to get on the Studio J digital scrapbooking bandwagon. Now, I LOVE it as an alternative to catch up on missing pages from my albums or for a fresh take on those annual holiday pages which we do every year! I LOVE that's it's easily accessible - I can keep working on my scrapbooking wherever I'm at. I'm a multi-tasker (big time) so for me to turn out a couple scrapbooking pages while I'm watching shows or a movie with the kids, is huge. I can sit at their practices and still have "me or productive time" (depending on my mood), where I get get lost in my family's memories!  Best of all, if I feel like my layouts are missing something, I can always add the ribbon or the bling later!

Here's another really fun layout that was super quick and turned at so cute!!
Whether you may be interested in digital scrapbooking as your sole method of scrapbooking or like me, a combination with classic scrapbooking, this month is the perfect time to try it!

October Blog Hop - Very Merry Christmas

Welcome to our "CTMH Stamp of the Month" Blog Hop using this month's "Very Merry Christmas" stamp - a set of 11 versatile stamps with the added bonus of coordinating with the Cricut Artiste cartridge.  If you have come here from one of my favorite ladies, Michelle Jones' Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants here .

Although I love all the images in this stamp set, one of my favorites is the "a HOLIDAY TREAT". I aimed for a simple but classic gift bag that I can use throughout the upcoming holiday season for a hostess gift, teacher gift and neighbor gifts. I loved how the beautiful new champagne (X5931) and ruby (X5927) cardstocks worked beautifully together with the black striped grosgrain ribbon (Z1781) , sparkles black flourishes (Z1745), and black twine from the neutral assortment baker's twine (Z1701). The cute gift bag, doily shape and images that coordinate with the stamp set are from our newest CTMH Cricut Artiste Collection (Z1790).  Ink colors are ruby and new england ivy.

I hope you like it!!  Not only would I love to read your comments but I'd really appreciate if you'd "click here to visit my NEW Scrapi Traci Facebook page,  and "like me"!

Now "Hop" on over to another fellow CTMH consultant with a great name Traci Goodbee's Blog - for her fun creation!

My September Is All About Family

September is a time to start over - it's our second chance of the year to start resolutions (after New Year's, of course).  To be healthier, more organized, spend quality time with the family, and most importantly, make time for ourselves - so we can be better at all of the above!!  To help my fellow scrapbook enthusiasts do something that makes themselves feel better, I'm offering the following schedule for classes, crops. and introducing a new special Savings Club!

CLASSES
My Scrapi classes this month will feature the timeless and stunning Avonlea paper because it is all about the family!!

Classes will be held on Thurs., September 20 at 7 p.m. Cost is $25 for three 2-page layouts.  (If you cannot make this class but are interested in doing this kit, just let me know and we can see if we can get some folks together to do an alternate or makeup class)!

Makeup Class:  I am also doing a makeup class for summer's "Footloose" kit on Wed., Sept. 12 at 9 a.m.

CROPS
I offer Scrapi Crop Time on the second Friday of every month.  It's free time to come get pictures on your layouts, make additional layouts, or just get organized and have fun with both new and old friends!  The September Crop is scheduled on Fri., Oct. 14th at 5 p.m. - ?  Just bring a snack and/or wine to share and we'll order pizza if anyone is interested!  Just RSVP to me at Traci@ScrapiTraci.com so I save you table space!

SCRAPI SAVINGS CLUB
Sometimes you just can't order every everything you want!  It's a lesson we are constantly teaching our children.  It still doesn't make it any easier especially when you are trying to make time for yourself to enjoy your hobby. If you are a scrapbooker, you not only have "wants" but lots of "needs" (and yes, we can always argue with ourselves over what is really a product "want" or "need").

My Scrapi Savings Club is designed to help you enjoy your hobby and get the supplies you need by budgeting your monthly spending.  In doing so, you'll be rewarded with additional free products! This offer is open to local, long-distance and Studio J customers.

To take advantage of the Savings Club:
  • You need to be spending a minimum of $30 a month through my Scrapi Classes, Scrapi Home Studio Shop, or ScrapiTraci.MyCTMH.com website.
  • You can spend for up to five months and then get to use hostess rewards based on the total you've spent (see page 4 and 5 of the CTMH Idea Book for reward levels).
Special Notes:
- You can always cash out your savings club before the five month period is over if you are eager to use your rewards and/or have already reached a level you are happy with.
- You are welcome to collect outside orders from family and friends to help you reach a level (or even host a party to maximize your reward).

Start today at a Scrapi class or place your first order at ScrapiTraci.MyCTMH.com.

Last pics from Scrapi Kid's Camp

Here's one last post with pics from this summer's Scrapi Traci Kid's Camp.  Love the picture above - lots of tables to use but the girls just loved working on the floor. And if you look closely in the background, you see my daughter Haley and her friend Mouse at the Cricut. My Cricut has been getting a workout during this camp and would you believe that the only two cartridges the girls were interested in - both CTMH new Art Philosophy and Artiste. What more do you need, right!!
One of my craftiest campers came up with the project above and below using CTMH's My Creations College Cubes.  Just fabulous!!
